CarMax is a ripoff. They won’t negotiate at all, and are way overpriced. Although their cars look awesome and apparently haven’t ever been in an accident, alot of cars have and just didn’t get reported to insurance.. Try to go for a private seller, they are more fair/negotiable and know something about the car.

Yes, CarMax is a little more expensive and they don’t haggle. However, for the extra money you get a stress-free buying experience, a 5-day return policy, a good mechanical inspection, a CarFax report, and a 30-day warranty — all things you won’t get from buying from an individual at a lower price. Like a lot of things in this world, you get what you pay for.

No, I’m not associated with CarMax, but I have family members that have bought from them over and over, and keep going back. Must be a good reason.

Carmax is a bit higher priced but with good reason. They go through all their cars inside and out. They do all maintenance work needed, repair everything mechanical and electrical, detail the cars inside and out, offer a 5 day return policy, a limited warranty and give you hassle free buying.

They are not flexible on their no haggle price. And they shouldn’t be. They built their business on that reputation and sticking to it gives them integrity.

Their sales staff is usually very knowledgeable and friendly. And I HATE them. Not because of anything negative about them. But because they cost us some used car sales since they have a huge inventory. And their vehicles are in very good condition.
